I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
